Men's Club donates to Hunt Hill
SARONA — Every year, the Rice Lake Area Men’s Club donates over 95% of the funds they raise to Barron County organizations whose mission is aligned with the club’s values, which are to support youth activities, services and education. Yearly, the club makes over 20 awards. On April 30, the Men’s Club donated $1,000 to Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary in Sarona. Approximately 36 expecting mothers will feel the impact of Marshfield Clinic Health System’s decision to temporarily suspend delivery and labor services in Rice Lake, a decision laid partially at the feet of challenges to covering anesthesia services. A Rice Lake man is accused of possessing narcotic drugs and driving drunk with his 4-year-old children in his vehicle after police were called to a disturbance at an apartment building in Cameron. Man accused of attacking elderly man enters not guilty plea
A Rice Lake man who allegedly attacked and bit off a fingertip of a 73-year-old man on a city trail has pleaded not guilty to charges filed against him. Robert L. One person dead in fatal rollover crash in Bloomer Wisconsin
BLOOMER, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – One person is dead after a single-vehicle rollover in Bloomer Sunday morning. According to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened on State Highway 40 near 155th Avenue. Chippewa County Sheriff Travis Hakes said a truck was driving on State Highway 40 when it left the road, drove over a driveway and went airborne. Northwood Tech students offering tour of home they built
Northwood Technical College's Construction and Cabinetmaking students and faculty invite the public to an open house Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the house it has completed at 817 E. Barker St., Rice Lake. The students and faculty will be on site to provide tours, share insights, field questions and illuminate the project's process. Guests will have the chance to explore the home, appreciating its craftsmanship, layout and design up close. "We had six second-year students working on the project all school year — from rough framing to building the cabinets," said Scott Theilig, Construction and Cabinetmaking instructor.
