The ninth-seeded Patriots prevailed on penalty kicks against No. 8 Moses Brown, 1-1 (5-4), as the warm sunshine set quickly on Wasserman Field. Shane Rogers completed his team's perfect trip through the shootout with the clincher into the lower right corner, sending Quakers keeper Haven Knapp the wrong way. Eoin Soler , Wyatt Woll , Tony Pyliotis and Will Ramos all converted for Portsmouth before Rogers stepped to the spot and kept his cool. Gabe Chytka didn't need to make a save for the Patriots after Moses Brown smashed its opening attempt off the right post. Maddox Ribiero , Lane Aronian , Caleb Waring and Knapp extended the five-round proceedings to the limit by converting their kicks, with Knapp finding the right side off Chytka's hands. Brockton High students find new dreams at Berklee music camp
BROCKTON — Sanyajo Joseph, a senior at Brockton High, didn't pack close to what she needed for a five-day summer program at Berklee College of Music. "You didn't even bring a pillow!" said her friend and fellow program participant Zinovia Jones, laughing. Sanyajo did bring her baby blanket, and she stuffed it into a pillowcase to create a makeshift pillow for her first-ever night in a dorm room bed. She hadn't even slept over at a friend's house before this experience. Sanyajo and Zinovia, a Brockton High junior, went to Berklee for five days to study gospel music, and were both changed by the experience – but in very different ways. Berklee became Zinovia's dream college, while Sanyajo learned that she can live away from home and be independent. 'Pride of Brockton': Brockton High marching band is back from pandemic The two students, who both sing in Brockton High's chorus and other groups, learned from their principal there were scholarships available to Brockton High students for the Berklee College of Music Summer Gospel Performance Program. Though neither had much experience with gospel music, they both thought it would be a great opportunity. Music is a huge part of their lives,

D1 baseball commit goes crazy on the football field, puts up season's best stat line
On the diamond, he’s D1-committed center fielder and pitcher. On the football field, he’s a school-record-holding two-way star. Senior Grayson Foley may be a baseball player first – but that’s not stopping him from making quite a bit of noise this football season. The Scituate High School (MA) running back and defensive back was the standout in the Sailors’ 42-28 victory over North Quincy on Friday night, Oct. 23, rushing for 347 yards on 38 carries and tallying six touchdowns. On defense, he snagged three interceptions. It was just another day at the office for Foley. The Bryant baseball (Smithfield, RI) commit has been making waves all season and became Scituate’s leading rusher of the Herb Devine era in early October, besting the prior record of 3,241 yards set by Dawayne Kirton. Devine became the program's head coach in 2008. “We go out here and try to perform every single play,” Foley told the Patriot Ledger , a member of the USA TODAY Network, after Friday’s game. “I credit the mentality, the brotherhood and the chemistry together.” More: High school football rankings: Two new teams enter USA TODAY Sports Super 25 The Foley-led victory over North Quincy brought Sciutate’s pristine
