Reckless Gun Discharges Prompt Arrest of Two at Valdosta Apartment Complex
LOWNDES COUNTY, Georgia – A Valdosta Police Department (VPD) Officer heard several gunshots in the area of the 1500 block of East Park Avenue on Tuesday, May 7th at about 12:20 p.m. Numerous citizens called E911 to report that people had been shooting a rifle and a handgun, while in an apartment complex. Callers, who were eye witnesses, gave a description of the vehicle that the guns were being discharged while it was in the apartment complex. VPD Officers responded to the area immediately.

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A South Carolina man is facing charges after pointing a gun at an officer at a Valdosta hotel. On Saturday, May 11, the Valdosta Police Department (VPD) was called to the Wingate Hotel after reports of a dispute. When officers got to the scene, they say they saw a man, later identified as William Stanfield, 61, who was “intoxicated and belligerent.”
Valdosta 17-year-old charged after stealing vehicle, hitting other vehicles, police say
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A 17-year-old Valdosta resident has now been charged after allegedly stealing a woman’s car before hitting other cars. On Monday at around 2:15 a.m., a woman reported to Valdosta Police that she was following her stolen vehicle. Her car was stolen by an unknown person when she “ran inside a store” on the 1400 block of North Troup Street, according to a release.
