    By Christopher Burns,

A Jackman man was airlifted to a Bangor hospital after he crashed into a rock on Wednesday.

Roland West, 76, was driving a 2005 Dodge pickup truck on Route 201 in West Forks just before noon when he crossed the centerline and crashed into a large rock, according to the Waterville Morning Sentinel .

West wasn’t alert when first responders arrived at the scene, the Sentinel reported.

He was airlifted to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was being treated for head injuries, broken bones and other internal injuries. His condition Wednesday evening wasn’t available, according to the Sentinel.

    The crash remains under investigation.
