BALTIMORE, Md. — The University of Maryland and Morgan State football programs are partnering to hold practice sessions at Hughes Stadium on Saturday, April 6. Dubbed “Baltimore Day”, this collaboration will give fans the chance to watch both teams practice and interact with the players and coaches afterward.

For the first time ever, the two teams will run their separate practice sessions on the same day, on the same field. The event is open to the public.

The “Baltimore Day” initiative, spearheaded by Maryland Head Coach Michael Locksley and Morgan State Head Coach Damon Wilson , is a testament to the passion and love for football at the grassroots level.  The idea behind this is to both celebrate the game of football while also promoting a sense of unity and camaraderie within the state’s collegiate football community.

“I appreciate Coach Wilson and Morgan State for partnering with us for Baltimore Day,” said Locksley. “The Baltimore community means so much to both Maryland and Morgan so we’re thrilled to come together for this. We have so many loyal alumni and fans in the Baltimore area so to be able to provide an easy way for them to get out and watch us practice is important. I know both programs are excited to hit the field and then also have a chance to interact with the fans after practice in what will be a very exciting day.”

The day will start with Morgan State’s practice at 11 a.m. The University of Maryland Terrapins will take the field at 2 p.m. Although they won’t be on the field at the same time, both teams and head coaches will be interacting with fans after their practice sessions conclude.

“I’m really excited to have Coach Locksley and the Terps on campus,” said Wilson. “This is a great opportunity to bring two programs together for spring practice. It will provide an opportunity for the community to see two college programs practice at Morgan State University. We are building a lot on campus and this provides another opportunity to showcase our beautiful campus and football program. I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a day of college football at Hughes Stadium.”
