    Saratoga Co. animal shelter to host rabies clinic

    BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Saratoga County Animal Shelter will host a rabies vaccination clinic on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the 4-H Training Center in Ballston Spa. It will be free to vaccinate cats, ferrets, and dogs during designated times for each animal.

    Vaccination schedule

    • Cats: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    • Ferrets: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    • Dogs: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

    Animals must be at least three months old to receive a vaccination. Cats and ferrets must be in a carrier and dogs must be leashed.

    Rabies vaccine clinics happening in Greene County

    Owners must bring proof of prior vaccinations to receive the three-year certificate for their animal. Unless provided, all vaccination certificates will be written for one year.

    The Public Health Law requires all dogs, cats, and ferrets to be vaccinated against rabies. Dogs, cats, and ferrets should receive their initial vaccination at three months old.

    Rabies vaccine clinics happening in Herkimer County

    The second vaccination should be one year after the initial vaccine. From there, pets should get vaccinated every three years.
