MARKSVILLE, La. Verda angler lands 13-pound Bussey Brake spawner
Jerrad Friday saw a huge fish on his LiveScope on Friday, May 10, while he was fishing Bussey Brake, the famed trophy bass reservoir near Bastrop. “I messed with her about an hour, but I couldn’t get her to bite,” said Friday, who hails from Verda in Grant Parish. “I marker her on my GPS and went back on Saturday. She was sitting on a letdown log in about 8 feet of water. On my third flip, she latched onto it.”
Parish Water Systems Receive 2023 Grades
Seven of LaSalle Parish’s 13 water systems received an “A” recently with the release of the Louisiana Department of Health’s (LDH) 2023 Water System Grade Report. Every year the state is required by law to develop a letter grade for each water system in the state as part of its community water system accountability. According to LDH, the letter grade is reflective of each water system’s quality and performance.
