Stabbing in Pineville leads to arrest
PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - Pineville Police Department stated on Saturday, June 8, that a woman was arrested Friday night following reports of a stabbing incident at the 1300 block of Palmetto Road. Officers responded to the scene at around 10:20 pm and discovered a man with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim is expected to recover.

Rapides Parish inmate accused of causing possible overdose death
ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - An inmate has been arrested following a possible overdose death in Rapides Parish. The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office said around 1 a.m. on June 4 their deputies in the Rapides Parish Detention Center 1 in downtown Alexandria were made aware of an inmate having a medical emergency. They said Eugenia Maurice Mitchell, 31, of Alexandria, was found unresponsive and not breathing. Despite efforts to revive Mitchell, she was ultimately pronounced dead around 1:45 a.m.
