    Pedestrian killed by train in east Bakersfield identified: Coroner

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man who was struck by a train and pronounced dead later at Kern Medical has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

    James Tilton Ruff, a 63-year-old man from Bakersfield, was struck by a train on May 2 , and later died after being transported to the hospital. The incident occurred in the area of East Truxton Avenue and Baker Street, just after 7:12 a.m.

    During a heart attack every second counts and CPR can make all the difference.

    After a postmortem examination was conducted, it revealed the cause of death to be blunt force trauma and the manner of death was ruled an accident.
