After months of anticipation, award-winning chef Jeff Harris finally revived his New Orleans restaurant Jimmie Lou’s when it opened to the public on Tuesday night. The prior iteration of Jimmie Lou’s opened in 2021 as a stall inside the Oakley Food Hall. It was the first solo venture for Harris, a Louisiana native who first made a name for himself as the sous chef at Emeril Lagasse’s flagship restaurant before heading to the Queen City after Hurricane Katrina. In 2022, he opened his Global South-focused restaurant Nolia in Over-the-Rhine to much fanfare — Harris and Nolia have three James Beard nominations, among many other awards — but customers kept asking when he’d return to his roots.

The sandwich chain knocked Chick-fil-A from the top of the fast-food customer-satisfaction rankings, ending an 11-year streak. Jersey Mike's debuted at No. 1 in the 2026 American Customer Satisfaction Index , edging Chick-fil-A by one point. The ranking comes as restaurants face tougher competition for increasingly cost-conscious customers. Here's what helped Jersey Mike's take the crown and where to find the chain in Ohio and Kentucky. Why is Jersey Mike's ranked higher than Chick-fil-A? Jersey Mike's earned a score of 84, topping Chick-fil-A at 83 and emerging as the new leader in customer satisfaction among fast-food chains. The ranking is based on 16,464 customer surveys conducted between April 2025 and March 2026. Chick-fil-A remains the top-rated chicken chain, but Jersey Mike’s stood out for freshness, menu variety and value, the report said.
