Hannah Hidalgo Becomes Only Player This Century to Achieve Rare Milestone in Notre Dame's Dominant Win
Scoring 20 points in a college game is an achievement in itself. Recording 10 steals is an entirely different challenge, requiring anticipation, quick hands, and consistent disruption of the opponent’s defense. Hannah Hidalgo has made doing both look remarkably easy—and today she joined an exclusive club, adding a major milestone to an already historic Notre Dame career. “Hannah Hidalgo now has the most career 20-point, 10-steal games (7) of any player THIS CENTURY 🤯,” ESPN W pointed out on Instagram. Hidalgo, who logged her seventh such game today, a rare milestone, finished the game against ...

Mike’s Pastry In Boston’s North End Still Draws Lines Out The Door For Cannoli
Some lines in Boston are for ballgames, and some are for concerts. One line in the North End forms every single day for something much smaller: a cannoli. People wrap around the corner, cash in hand, waiting their turn at a counter that has been famous for generations. The shop has been around since 1946, and it still acts like the busiest bakery in town because, most days, it is.

Court ruling ends Boston high school football team’s playoff hopes after clerical error
Earlier in the week it was announced a Massachusetts high school football program would miss the postseason due a clerical error regarding its schedule. Days later, that ruling was upheld despite an injunction filed by Boston Public Schools. The Boston Globe reported Friday, Nov. 6, that the injunction filed to allow Boston English/New Mission into the postseason was denied by Suffolk Superior Court Judge Gillian Feiner . English's game against O'Bryant (MA) on Oct. 30 was the game in question as no one from Boston Public Schools submitted it on the scheduling platform the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) uses with its Sept. 18 deadline. Because of that, the game was counted as a scrimmage and not a regular season game. Boston Public Schools argued the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association did not correctly apply its own rule, MIAA rule 34.6 , and game against Bryant should have been counted as a forfeit. The Bulldogs finished the season 4-2 and did not meet the seven games needed to qualify for the postseason. Had it been counted as a forfeit, they would have qualified for the postseason playing as a lower seed. “We are disappointed that our MIAA appeal was denied,” a

City to pilot music and arts space in Brighton
The city of Boston plans to open temporary music and art studios in Brighton next summer. The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture has been working with the Boston Housing Authority to design a music and arts building, alongside affordable housing, at a large city-owned parcel at 290 North Beacon St. With rising construction costs and a complex financing picture, the project will take years to complete. In light of this, the city now plans to build out a temporary pilot space to be completed in a matter of months.

North Quincy football falls at home to Winchester in MIAA playoffs
QUINCY -- The North Quincy football will have to wait another fall before it can again attempt to end its 34-year playoff win drought. For the second year in a row, Winchester (7-2) defeated North Quincy (6-3) in the first round of the MIAA Division 2 state tournament on Friday, Nov. 6. In a downpour, Winchester won 40-29 at Veterans Memorial Field in Quincy. This time, it was done in "upset" fashion as Winchester won on the road as the No. 12 seed over the No. 5 Raiders. Despite the seven-seed difference, it's hardly an upset. Winchester improved to a perfect 4-0 in the all-time series over North Quincy. This year's playoff battle included a fresh face in first-year starting quarterback Peter Alexopoulos, who together with running back Dominic Vozzella combined for more than 400 rushing yards and all five touchdowns. "We couldn't stop the run," said North Quincy head coach Greg Sommers. "They played tough. They came out, changed some things up, started running the ball up the middle and we couldn't answer." Winchester trailed at halftime after North Quincy took a 21-16 lead late in the second quarter. Quarterback Cole Doyle connected with receiver Connor Lynch for a

Chelsea Schools Add Staff, Warn Families as ICE Reports Rattle Families
Chelsea Public Schools has told families it is adding extra staff at pickup and drop-off after reports of increased ICE presence near school campuses and in neighborhoods across the city. Superintendent Almi Abeyta said the move is meant to help students and families feel safe at the end of the school day, even as accounts differ over exactly how close federal agents came to school grounds.
