    5 local dollar stores to permanently close beginning Saturday

    (WKBN) — Over 30 Family Dollar stores are permanently locking up their doors this weekend in Ohio. According to a letter from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, five stores in the Valley will be closing their doors.

    The Austintown, Boardman, Beloit, East Liverpool and New Middletown locations will be permanently closed starting Saturday.

    The exact locations set to close are:

    • Austintown : 4450 Mahoning Avenue
    • Boardman : 8578 Market Street
    • Beloit : 15978 Cleveland East Liverpool Road
    • East Liverpool : 615 Walnut Street
    • New Middletown : 11045 Main Street

    According to the letter, Family Dollar will attempt to offer new positions at nearby stores to employees who express interest.

    In Ohio alone, a total of 265 employees are expected to be laid off due to these closures, which spans a total of 35 stores across the state.
