    Portage HS scores | May 4: Field baseball tops Aurora at David Starkey Memorial Tournament

    Field baseball edged Aurora in a David Starkey Memorial Tournament thriller, prevailing 9-7 Saturday morning.

    Caden Kolesar provided 3⅔ strong innings of relief for the Falcons, scattering a hit while not walking a batter.

    Grady Eader had two singles and two RBIs, and Kayden Smith added two singles and a double for Field.

    Carson Smith powered Aurora with a double, home run and five RBIs.

    Garfield 19, Ravenna 2

    Alex Carter held the host Ravens to two runs (one earned) and two hits to earn a complete-game victory. He also went 3 for 3 at the plate with a double and four runs.

    Eric Geddes provided plenty of additional punch for the G-Men, who erupted for 13 runs in the first, finishing 4 for 4 with two homers, four runs and seven RBIs. Brandyn Bogucki, Aidan Hill and Garet Warnick added two hits apiece for Garfield, while Jeriah Miller went 2 for 2 for Ravenna.

    Softball

    Aurora 10, Green 2

    The Greenmen bounced back from their first loss with their 19th win, as Lailah Bohanan and McKennah Metzger combined to hold the Bulldogs to two runs on four hits.

    Meanwhile, Aurora amassed 15 hits, with Metzger going 3 for 3 with three doubles, Bohanan going 3 for 4 with a triple and Sophie Schecterman going 3 for 4 with three doubles.
