Gadsden Moving Forward with New Projects
Plans are to have the construction of Gadsden’s new Fire Station 5 taking place at the same time as the renovation of the adjacent campground – at Noccalula Falls Park. The City Council has officially accepted a bid in the amount of $2,829,209.97 from Boatner Construction for the project. Fire Station 5 is one of the oldest fire stations in the city – that, according to Mayor Craig Ford – along with North Gadsden and Country Club, which are also scheduled for replacement.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - The Kitchen Cops had their hands full this week, with several unpleasant discoveries around the Tennessee Valley. Tienda La Ideal Restaurant on County Road 479 in Albertville has the lowest score in north Alabama this week with a shocking 66. There were containers of cooked food without date markings, no soap at a handwashing sink, mayo left out of the cooler and raw meat dripping blood onto ready to eat jalapeños in the cooler. The Tienda La Ideal Market in the same building was also written up for having roaches on the property and got a 77.
