Three killed after wreck in Gadsden
GADSDEN, Ala. (WAFF) - Gadsden Police say three people were killed after a truck slammed into a motorcycle Monday. Police say the wreck happened yesterday afternoon just after 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 411 and Walnut St. The motorcycle rider and two people in the truck were killed during the wreck. Police did not report any other injuries.

Prison for man in sextortion scheme against KU student
DOUGLAS COUNTY—A man from Alabama is going to prison for his role in a humiliating sex crime. Last week, Devaris L. Howard, 21, of Gadsden, Ala., was sentenced to 41 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections for the sexual extortion of a then 19-year-old University of Kansas student in 2022, according to Douglas County District Attorney Suzanne Valdez.
