The 26th season of the Thursday Thunder Legends Series is now underway!. Over 80 entrants made for an impressive field of drivers for opening night, scattered throughout the eight divisions: Chargers, Fr8Auctions Rookie Bandoleros, Bandits, Adrenalin Powersports Outlaws, The Associates Group Young Lions, Masters, Semi-Pro Legends, and WJP Investments Pro.
BREAKING: Georgia Announces New Baseball Coach
Georgia has a new baseball coach for the first time in ten years after the announcement that they would be hiring LSU assistant Wes Johnson has been named the new head coach. Johnson spent the last three years as the LSU pitching coach. Prior to his work with the Tigers, Johnson was the pitching coach for fellow SEC baseball staples Mississippi State and Arkansas.
UGA football offers Westlake WR Travis Smith
The Georgia Bulldogs and wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon have extended a scholarship offer to recruit Travis Smith. Smith is a member of the class of 2025. Travis Smith plays high school football for Westlake High School in Atlanta, Georgia. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound wide receiver is currently an unranked recruit.
Taylor Mikesell signs with WNBA's Atlanta Dream
Taylor Mikesell is returning to the WNBA. The Jackson High School graduate and former Ohio State star signed with the Atlanta Dream on Monday. Mikesell was waived by the Indiana Fever, the team that drafted her, prior to the season opener last month. Mikesell went 13th overall in April's draft. She competed all through training camp for a roster spot, appearing in one preseason game in which she scored five points in 14 minutes May 7 vs. the Chicago Sky.
Metro Atlanta man set to compete in 2023 Special Olympics World Games
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A 20-year-old from Cherokee County is representing Team USA in a big way at the upcoming Special Olympics World Games in Germany. Caleb Guy has been competing in the Special Olympics for 12 years now, participating in basketball, soccer, tennis and other athletics. This year, he will be just one of five kayakers competing for Team USA on the international stage.

The Atlanta Hawks and State Farm teamed up for a ‘Console to Career’ esports panel at the Ron Anderson Recreation Center in Cobb County.
