The Raconteur Room , a wine and craft beer bar and music venue in Atascadero, closed its doors Saturday after five years in business, according to a post on the bar’s Facebook page .

In a post on April 12, the owners announced their lease was up and that they were searching for someone to buy the bar.

“Saturday April 27 will be our last day open as owners,” the post read. “Hoping we can close out a deal with someone before then and keep the bar intact, but if not our lease is up and we will be out.”

The owners followed up with a new post five days later saying they had a “great cash offer” in place, but other deals and neighboring businesses seemed to have “muddied up the deal.” Specifics about the situation were not given.

What is that in SLO County?

“Well. I think that’s all folks,” the post read. “Thanks to everyone who has come and supported us the last 5+ years.”

On Monday, a separate post said the space was mostly cleared out and the owners were looking for a new location.

“Thanks to everyone who helped us today clearing out the spot,” the post read. “We couldn’t have done it without you.”

The bar was first opened at 5840 Traffic Way in 2019 by Tyler and Shannon Clark, the founders and previous co-owners of Libertine Brewing Co.

“I hope we could be a community gathering place,” Tyler Clark told The Tribune at the time of the bar’s opening.
