Bells tolled from Williamsburg to Holyoke in memory of those killed in 1874 dam disaster
The owners of the former St. Catherine's Church in Leeds opened up their bell tower for the "cascade of bells," an event that remembered the victims of the Williamsburg, Massachusetts, dam disaster of 1874. Bells were rung in ten buildings and churches from Wiliamsburg to Holyoke. The sign describes the height of the flood waters.

ADAMS, Mass. — On Friday morning the Hoosac Valley Elementary School community gathered on the school's lawn to welcome the school's first sign. Nearly seven years ago, Cheshire Elementary School and CT Plunkett Elementary School joined together to become Hoosac Valley Elementary School. After the closing of Cheshire Elementary School, the school district voted to rename CT Plunkett as Hoosac Valley Elementary School.
