Rock Ridge girls take first ERC meet

VIRGINIA—The Rock Ridge girls’ golf team picked up a season-opening win Tuesday at the Virginia Golf Course, winning a nine-hole East Range Conference meet with a four-girl score of 180.

Ely/Northeast Range was second with a 196. Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin finished third at 229 and North Woods was fourth at 245. International Falls and Mesabi East did not return a team score.

International Falls’ Kelby Anderson took home individual medalist honors, firing a nine-hole 39 to win by two strokes. Rock Ridge’s Mylee Young was second (41) and North Woods’ Tori Olson was third (42).

Emma Berg finished fourth for Rock Ridge with a 44, Madison Fingeroos was sixth (47) and Erin Hughes and Sydney Spelts tied for seventh (48) to round out the Wolverines’ scoring top four.

Abby Koivisto was tops for the Ely/Northeast Range golf team, taking fifth with a 45. Maizy Sundblad and Danica Sundblad tied for 10th (49) and Carena eBeltz was 14th (53).

For the Titans, Olivia Klamm was 13th (51), Reagan Powell 16th (57), Klara Finke 18th (60) and Genesis Hallie 20th (61).

After Olson, Carsyn Burnett was next for the Grizzlies in 18th (60). Laurin Glass was 22nd (68) and Sophia Hoffman was 24th (75).

Allie Lamppa was seventh for Mesabi East (48) while Anicka Stanek was 24th (75).
