Quinn Murphy belted a 3-run homer in the first inning and the Barrington offense just kept on rolling as the Eagles swept its season series from Mount St. Charles and finished the regular season with a 9-game winning streak. The Eagles (15-3) captured their D-II title with a 6-0 record. Murphy’s blast, his fourth of the season, cleared the 365-foot sign in center at Renaud Field. He also singled, doubled and drove in 4 runs. Gabe Tanous was 2-for-2 with 4 runs scored and 2 RBI while Luke Tanous was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Alex Anderson tossed 4 innings of 3-hit, no-run ball replete with no walks and three strikeouts. The Mounties Brayden Slack was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI in the loss.
