BPD seeks help finding missing 15-year-old
The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s help in locating an at-risk runaway missing juvenile. Taro James Fein, 15, was last seen around 7:45 a.m. May 9 in the 2800 block of Loma Linda Drive. Fein is described as white, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.
Preliminary hearing in 3-year-old’s death moved to June

Local law enforcement agencies to commemorate fallen peace officers
Local law enforcement agencies will host several events in coming days in honor of fallen officers for National Police Week. The Bakersfield Police Department will host a Boots and Brew Country Music Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at 1933 Prohibition Event Center to honor late Officer David Nelson. The event will include live music, line dancing and more. The event is open to the public and all proceeds go toward the Officer David Nelson Memorial Scholarship fund.
