Malfunctions and delays on the Green Line brought service to a halt in the early morning on Tuesday.

At 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, passengers were informed that overnight construction had run late and there would be shuttle buses available for those affected by those delays.

And by 6:30 a.m., another issue led to service being suspended between Government Center and Arlington.

According to an MBTA representative, a track switch was not properly aligned near Arlington. MBTA personnel responded to the situation and took corrective action. A test train was used to determine if the switch was fixed.

Regular service resumed by 8:20 a.m. According to the MBTA, the issue is not related to the ongoing Track Improvement Program.

The delays, and the late notice, left riders frustrated, judging from responses on X (formerly Twitter).
