Utility billing changes coming in Hutchinson
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Director of Finance Angela Richard spoke to the Hutchinson City Council on Tuesday about changes coming to utility billing in the city. "We are working to upgrade our waterbill.hutchgov.com website for better user experience," Richard said. "The new website will have a cleaner layout and simplify the menus. We are working through all of the testing and hope to release that within the next couple weeks. Customers can still pay with any method they did before, whether that was in person, over the phone, bank draft or mail."

Hutchinson real estate agent reappointed to state commission
TOPEKA, Kan. — Governor Laura Kelly announced Friday the reappointment of Marsha McConnell of Hutchinson to the Kansas Real Estate Commission. Sunflower Cluster of Dog Shows this weekend
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hundreds of breeds of dogs will compete at the 2024 free Sunflower Cluster of Dog Shows at the Kansas State Fairgrounds June 6-9. "The Sunflower Cluster of Dog Shows is a cooperative effort among the Hutchinson, Salina and Wichita Kennel Clubs and the Wichita Dog Training Club," Ruth Lloyd, member of the Hutchinson Kennel Club, said. "We all work together on that, and they have competition. It's sanctioned by the American Kennel Club and they have competition for conformation which is like what you see on Westminster show, except not quite as fancy. We don't generally dress in evening wear."

The College Football Bowl schedule for the 2024-25 season has officially been released on Thursday. There will be a total of 47 postseason games, including 46 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) games including the new College Football Playoff (CFP) format and the National Championship Game.

Firefighters busy with two incidents Tuesday night, early Wednesday
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — At 12:17 a.m. Wednesday, The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to the 300 block of North Severance for a report of a structure fire. Crews found a single-story residential structure with smoke showing throughout the house. Crews immediately entered the structure and found a small fire in one room. Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly eliminating any further threat.
