Baseball Recap: Chris Leggett can't quite lead Newburgh Free Academy over Washingtonville
Newburgh Free Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 5-1 to the Washingtonville Wizards. Newburgh Free Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Washingtonville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
The Best Orange County Golf Courses For Every Skill Level
As soon as the weather turned nice this year, I was out hitting golf balls. There are two really good driving ranges near me, so I've been going back and forth to try to brush off the winter rust. My long game and my short game is great, but I have no consistency in the middle with any of my irons. I'm certainly not my dad, Terry Walsh, who was a multi-year Dutchess County Golf Amateur winner.

Goshen Central had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Beacon Bulldogs a 19-0 shutout on Monday. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for Goshen Central this season. Addison Freiberger made a splash while hitting...

Riley Weatherwax's no-hitter, lifts Ketcham in pitchers' duel vs. Fox Lane
Pardon the cliché, but this really was a classic, an as-advertised pitchers' duel between two aces. Both performers delivered, perhaps even more than was expected, and Riley Weatherwax stole the spotlight. The senior was almost flawless Tuesday, weaving his first no-hitter while leading Roy C. Ketcham in a 1-0 win over Fox Lane. Quite the show to close the regular season. ...
Softball: Gunsett, Del Salto help Marlboro beat Roosevelt, Pine Plains for MHAL title
HIGHLAND - The weight felt almost unbearable for Leah Gunsett, who already had shouldered so much. Eager to be relieved of the pressure, the Marlboro pitcher turned to her teammates and asked for the burden to be lifted. “It’s heavy!” the senior said Monday, a bag of ice by then strapped to her shoulder. “That’s real gold.” ...

SOMERS, N.Y. - The Somers flag football season began with injuries and a string of losses. So the team figured an attitude adjustment couldn’t hurt. But the Tuskers did more than show up. The girls won a resounding 32-0 victory and moved on to face Lakeland in round two on Saturday. The Tuskers did stall in their first drive, though....
