D-Day became known as the largest amphibious invasion in military history during World War II, taking place on the beaches of Normandy, France. Now the St. Augustine High School band will not only get to experience history, but they'll be making history performing for the 80th D-Day celebrations in France.

Louisiana to pay for private school tuition with tax dollars — but program cost, timeline unclear
Louisiana parents could one day get state money to pay for private school tuition, uniforms, tutoring or other expenses with a bill working its way through the statehouse. Why it matters: The bill, SB313, is a big priority for Gov. Jeff Landry, so should it land on his desk, it'll likely get his signature — even while lawmakers don't know how much the program will cost taxpayers or when it'll be rolled out to Louisiana families.
1910: The History of Leland University
During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the University Section in Uptown New Orleans was home to five colleges and universities – Tulane University, Loyola, St. Mary’s Dominican College, Newcomb College and, as seen in this circa 1910 photograph, Leland University. Remaining today are Tulane and Loyola. Dominican closed in 1984 and Newcomb merged with Tulane. Leland, located on St. Charles Avenue roughly between today’s Audubon Street and Audubon Place, closed its 10-acre New Orleans campus in 1915 before moving in 1923 to Baker, north of Baton Rouge.
