Handgun discharged by woman inside Thomaston Walmart
THOMASTON — A handgun was discharged by a woman inside the Thomaston Walmart store on May 10. According to footage from Walmart’s security video, a woman was seen walking down one of the store’s aisles and as she reached into her purse, her handgun fired, said Thomaston Police Sgt. Chris Hansen.

New warden named for Maine State Prison amid hazing, misconduct investigation
WARREN, Maine — The Maine Department of Corrections has named a new Warden for the Maine State Prison in Warren. Nathan Thayer will officially take over on Monday, May 20. He began his career at the Maine Correctional Center in 2006 and held several positions, including director of security.
