Drivers should watch for traffic switch on Highway 59 in Burke
BURKE, Texas (KTRE) - One of the most recent updates to the Diboll Relief Route is a traffic switch on U.S. Highway 59 in Burke heading into Diboll. Traffic will divert to a newly paved ramp that will start at John Means Road to allow work to be completed on other parts of the project. While the diversion was scheduled to begin last week, drivers can expect the change any day now.

Two men were injured – one seriously – when the boat they were in ran aground and hit a large dirt pile at Lake Sam Rayburn at about 3:00 Friday afternoon. Lake Rayburn Fire Chief Brett Holloway said the boat went aground between the east end of the dam and the Umphrey Family Pavilion.
