'It's been awful muddy': Iowa farmer delaying crop planting with rainy conditions
MOULTON, Iowa — One Appanoose County farmer said he had to delay planting his corn and soybeans due to the muddy conditions on his farm. Moulton farmer Rex Harris has grown corn and soybeans for over 40 years and raised about 400 head of cattle. Harris said the large downpour of April rain led to the muddy conditions unsuitable for planting.

Southern Iowa sheriff asking for help on cold case
APPANOOSE COUNTY, Iowa — The Appanoose County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in a 16-year-old cold case. Chuck Deatsch was found shot to death at his home in rural Mystic in southeast Iowa in 2008. The murder case remains unsolved, but deputies say they aren't forgetting the case.
