Man fires gun at dog, Fairfax County police say

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said they received a report of a man firing a gun at a dog in Annandale on Thursday morning.

A spokesperson for FCPD said officers responded to the 8900 block of Little River Turnpike at 8:12 a.m. for a weapon discharge. A witness told police that a man fired a gun toward a dog.

The man is with officers as they continue to investigate.

Police said there have been no reported injuries neither the dog nor its owner have been found.

Several schools in the area were placed on a “Secured the Building” status as a precautionary measure. As of 11:30 a.m., it had been lifted and normal activities resumed.
