Christmas on the Prarie event coming to Scottsbluff National Monument
(GERING, NE) “Christmas on the Prairie” is a FREE holiday event happening in the Scotts Bluff National Monument Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Throughout the event, participants will have an opportunity to make a variety of holiday ornaments including popcorn strings, paper lanterns and stars, dough ornaments to paint, as well as covered wagons and bird ornaments. FFA District 12 Leadership Contest Draws Most Competitors Since Pre-Pandemic
Some 380 FFA students from 20 western Nebraska high schools competed earlier this month in the District 12 Leadership Contest at Chadron State College. Alliance FFA chapter adviser Ashtyn Vivion says that’s the most since before the pandemic, which led to the temporary elimination of district competitions and the implementation of virtual state contests in 2020 and 2021.
