A seagull once snatched a gourmet lobster roll right out of a customer’s hands at this seafood window. The owner saw it happen and simply handed over a fresh one. That story alone made me want to go. The spot is a tiny take-out shack on the Massachusetts coast, serving fried clams, boiled lobster, and buttery lobster rolls on brioche with the ocean spread out in front of the picnic tables.

The CEO of Banyan Bar + Refuge officially called it quits for the Asian gastropub this week, more than a year after a kitchen fire forced it to close.
