ANDERSON, Ind. — An Anderson man was convicted at trial of molesting a girl for several years.

Gordon Wilson, 50, was convicted of two counts of child molesting, a Level 1 and a Level 4 Felony, after a four-day jury trial in Circuit Court 6, according to the Chief Deputy Prosecutor of Madison County Andrew Hamma. The jury deliberated for one hour and 15 minutes.

According to the probable cause affidavit, an officer interviewed the victim on July 26, 2019. The minor stated that the man sexually assaulted her for years at her home on the 700 block of W 2nd. St in Anderson. The attacks would occur while her primary guardian was out of the home.

Wilson repeatedly denied the allegations and told officers he would speak with officers in an interview. However, according to law enforcement, he never showed up for an interview despite multiple attempts to arrange a formal meeting.

Wilson’s sentencing is set for May 31, 2024. He faces a maximum of 62 years.

Information will be updated as it becomes available.
