KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Buffalo County/City of Kearney Emergency Call Center and Dundy County 911 phone services experienced disruptions on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office said services appear to be back to normal as of 11:21 p.m., while a Facebook post from the Dundy County Sheriff’s Office 911 services were back online around 12:04 a.m.

Kearney woman pleads no contest in Girl Scout theft case, agrees to pay restitution
A Kearney woman charged with stealing thousands of dollars from a Girl Scout troop has taken a plea deal. According to Buffalo County District Court records, Amanda Cobb, 35, pleaded no contest Friday to one count of misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking ($500 to $1,500). In exchange for her plea, the charge was reduced from felony theft by unlawful taking (more than $5,000).

KEARNEY, Neb. — A local health department has gotten a new tool to better monitor the air you breath. Two Rivers Public Health Department Environmental Health Specialist Ashley Green said she looks at the connection between human health and the environment, covering everything from food safety, to animal and insect borne disease, to harmful materials like lead and asbestos, and water and air quality.
Central Nebraska Woman Convicted for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine
United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced that Hallie Deleon, 25, formerly of Elm Creek, Nebraska, was sentenced on April 12, 2024, in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska for possession with intent to distribute meth. Senior United States District Judge John M. Gerrard sentenced Deleon to 22 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After Deleon’s release from prison, she will begin a 3-year term of supervised release.
