This BYU basketball signee has flipped his commitment to Utah State
Isaac Davis is no longer headed to BYU. The three-star recruit and one of the top talents from Idaho in the 2024 recruiting class announced Thursday on social media that he is committed to Utah State. Davis signed with the Cougars back in November during the early signing period as...
Prep track & field: Wolves off to a howling start at region
HYRUM — Green Canyon couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the 2024 Region 11 track and field championships Wednesday. The Wolves won the first two events contested on a cold and sometimes windy afternoon and evening on the Mountain Crest track. Menacing clouds accompanied the first day as well and as the final events — both the boys and girls 4x800 and 4x200 relays — got underway rain started to fall.
Final boys soccer RPI released, playoff matchups revealed
LOGAN — Two teams from Region 11 were ranked inside the top three of the final RPI for boys soccer released this morning by Utah High School Activities Association. The release of these rankings also sets forth the playoff bracket for the 4A state title the 27 teams in the classification will vie for starting this weekend.
Prep girls golf: Green Canyon in second place after first day
Having finished strong a year ago at the 4A state tournament, the Wolves are back at it again in 2024. The Green Canyon girls are just six strokes behind Crimson Cliffs after the first round of the 4A state championship on Wednesday at TalonsCove Golf Course in Saratoga Springs. The Wolves took second a year ago.
Analyzing Utah State's offseason attrition: Not great, but far better than last year
LOGAN — The spring transfer portal window, to put it mildly, wasn’t the best of times for Utah State football and its head coach Blake Anderson. After weathering the winter transfer portal almost spectacularly, losing only two players from the two-deep depth chart — Devin Dye and Ralph Frias — the spring window saw around five expected rotation players or starters depart the program, most of whom were enticed away by NIL offers from other schools.
After 'chaotic' trip to portal, former Utah State starter McCae Hillstead found home at BYU
PROVO — BYU wasn't looking for another quarterback after wrapping up spring practices with no fewer than five capable signal callers on its roster and a QB1 competition between incumbent Jake Retzlaff and Baylor/USF transfer Gerry Bohanon. But it's hard to put a price on experience — and that's...

Prep boys soccer: Hawks capture region title outright; Cats, Stangs win on Senior Night
No late-match heroics were needed from the Riverhawks this time. Dynamic senior Diego Vazquez recorded a brace in the first 22 minutes of the first half and Denaeyer Dean added a late insurance goal as Ridgeline captured its third straight Region 11 championship in boys soccer with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Logan on a dry but chilly Tuesday evening at Crimson Field.
Prep girls lacrosse: Wolves look sharp on Senior Night; Hawks, Bears also prevail
NORTH LOGAN — It was the kind of boost of momentum Erika Loftin was hoping for from her Wolves heading into their regular season finale. Green Canyon honored its six seniors and then proceeded to put together a well-rounded performance en route to a 13-5 victory over Logan in a Region 11 girls lacrosse game on a relatively dry but chilly Wednesday evening. The Wolves (3-10, 2-7) swept their regular season series with the Grizzlies (1-13, 0-9), in the process.

Here is the latest SEC sports news from The Associated Press
UNDATED (AP) — With two weeks left in the regular season, LSU is scrambling to avoid becoming the third straight defending national champion to miss the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers won two of three against then-No. 1 Texas A&M to take a giant step over the weekend, but they probably need to win four of their last six Southeastern Conference games to strengthen their status for an at-large bid. LSU also could help itself with a good showing in the SEC Tournament. The Tigers are tied with Mississippi for the 12th and final spot in the conference tournament, two games ahead of Missouri.
