    Altoona woman arrested for stabbing boyfriend, police said

    ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Altoona police are investigating after they said a person was stabbed Friday morning in the city.

    Altoona Sergeant Patrick Tomassetti told WTAJ that a suspect was taken into custody.

    Jhimenna Torres, 21, got into an argument with her boyfriend at their home on the 1100 block of 16th Avenue. Tomassetti said that she then used a folding knife and stabbed the boyfriend in the back left shoulder area. He was taken to UPMC Altoona for his injuries.

    Court documents show that police were sent to the home at 11:06 a.m. According to police, Torres had left the home and went into an alley where she was found and arrested.

    Torres allegedly told officers she and her boyfriend had been arguing over relationship issues. She claimed he grabbed her by the arms which was when she grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the back.

    Torres is now facing aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment charges, according to police.
