ALPINE, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – The Alpine Police Department and Brewster County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Alpine Elementary School.

According to a post by the Alpine Police Department, at about 1:20pm on Tuesday, April 16, officers received reports of shots fired in the 1100 block of North 9 th Street. Alpine Schools were placed in “lockdown” shortly after, due to the location of the reported shots fired.
