The Alpena Senior Citizens Center and Compassus Hospice Conducted A Dementia Tour Simulation
Compassus Hospice helped the Alpena Senior Citizens Center put together a Dementia tour simulation. “So today, we’re doing what we call the virtual Dementia tour. It is an evidence based, program where people actually get to experience what it might be like if they had Dementia. And we do that by garbing people up with different things that affect their different senses” said Teri Rapp, a Hospice liaison at Compassus Hospice.

The Put Your Town On The Map grants have been awarded to Imlay City with a $25,000 grant for their public interactive art and audio display. Rogers City secures second place with $15,000 for a captivating public art sculpture. St. Johns claims third place with $10,000 for community artistic benches. These projects aim to enhance community spirit while showcasing the creativity and innovation of Michigan's small towns. Firefighters help install smoke alarms at residences in Alpena
ALPENA, Mich., (WPNB/WGTU) -- The Alpena Fire Department and the American Red Cross will collaborate later this week to install smoke alarms at area residences. Between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, firefighters will "install free smoke alarms on Alpena’s northside in the vicinity of Lincoln Elementary," the fire department said in a news release.
