PBOT Warns Seasonal Darkness Dramatically Increases Crash Risks Across Portland

PORTLAND, OR – On this first weekday after the end of Daylight Saving Time, Portland’s Bureau of Transportation is advising caution. Darkness later in the mornings and earlier in the evenings bring a sharp rise in traffic danger. A new neighborhood market hopes to fill Old Town Portland’s grocery gap

A community hub is blossoming in the shadow of Old Town Portland’s iconic White Stag sign. Since 2016, nonprofit Feed the Mass has worked to uplift the city through food — first by hosting cooking classes, then pivoting to free meal pickups during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, the group moved into its current headquarters on Northwest Davis Street, where it distributes more than 5,000 meals each week.
