Wiscasset officer’s kindness
The Boothbay Region High School boys tennis team would like to thank Wiscasset police officer Nathan Willhoite. Officer Willhoite assisted us one recent evening when we were returning from a match at Carrabec High School. Our bus ran out of gas several miles before the Wiscasset town office on Route 27. Officer Willlhoite went to his own residence to retrieve a five-gallon can of gas, which he brought back and emptied into our fuel tank.

NH firm seeks Wiscasset vote on energy deal
A Wiscasset project across municipal and school buildings would take 16 months, cost about $1.9 million, tap hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal rebates, and Johnson Controls will guarantee the energy savings cover the town’s debt payments on it, a representative of the Manchester, New Hampshire firm told selectmen May 21. By the end of the 20 years, the measures, from solar power to light-emitting diode (LED) lighting, to weatherizing, will have saved $3.26 million in energy costs, the representative said.
