June exhibition: ‘Nature’s Bond: A Lifelong Dialogue’
The Waldo Theatre, located at 916 Main St., Waldoboro, opens its June art gallery show with two accomplished artists that have created a life-long dialogue through their exploration of handmade paper, printmaking, painting and the natural world. Diana Arcadipone and Susan Hostetler met in art school in Michigan years ago and remain close friends today. This exhibition is a testament to the staying power of this deep creative bond that formed through the making of paper by hand. A lively exchange of ideas has woven in and out of art and life over years of developing an art practice, travel and family.

Update May 22, 2024: A Damariscotta resident remains in critical/stable condition May 22 after he was found with a 4-wheeler on top of him, May 18. According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary information indicates that Cohen Giberson, 18, of Damariscotta, was operating a 2022 Can-Am 850, All-Terrain Vehicle on the Collinstown Road when it left the roadway, rolled over several times, and struck a tree.
The Great Race
Rick McIntosh (Lockport) and Sean Lowes (Ellicottville) have teamed up to participate in The Great Race competitive road rally this June. This 10-day event starts in Owensboro, Kentucky and ends 2300 miles later in Gardiner, Maine with several stops along the way. While this will be Rick’s 8th Great Race event, this will be Sean’s first.

I've only been a few times on the weekends, and all I remember is the portions being of wildly delicious quality, and enough to take home for lunch the next day.
