NY Awards Police Grants to Allegany, Cuba and Portville
Three police departments in the Greater Olean area will receive state grants for new technology and equipment to prevent and solve crimes and improve public safety. Allegany County man dies in crash
WIRT, N.Y. — An Allegany County man is dead following a head-on collision in the Town of Wirt. The crash happened Tuesday just after 2 p.m. on State Route 275. New York State Troopers say a 2012 Ford Escape was traveling north on State Route 275 crossing over into the south lane, hitting a 2024 Hyundai head-on. The driver of the Ford Escape, 48-year-old Michael R. Coats, was pronounced dead at the scene. The people in the other vehicle had either no or minor injuries.
