Weekly Safety Report: Shoplifting Incidents at Mt. Juliet, Tennessee
Mt. Juliet Police responded to two shoplifting incidents in one night. In the first incident, an officer intercepted a shoplifter who had stolen from Target after noticing an unlawfully parked car in a handicapped spot. The store was unaware of the theft, but the merchandise was returned and a 25-year-old female from Nashville was charged. She is currently out on bond for crimes related to robbery in Nashville. In the second incident, officers apprehended a 54-year-old female from Cookeville who had stolen from Dick's Sporting Goods after noticing a fraudulent/altered temporary license plate. The suspect was in possession of tools.

The company, led by the Columbia, Tennessee native, generates around $6 million annually, manufacturing high-powered off-road vehicles and various vehicle parts. Burkey's interest in off-road vehicles started in his teens when he began modifying his Jeep.
