Hwy 42 Resurfacing Continues
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (Wis-DOT) continues to push north giving state Highway 42 a facelift for 12.1 miles from Sturgeon Bay to Egg Harbor. The $6.76 million project is scheduled to be completed June 28 and includes various culvert removal and replacements, culvert transition excavation, concrete curb and gutter, asphalt milling and overlaying of the roadway, pavement marking, centerline and shoulder rumble strips, and other incidental work.
Letter to the Editor: Green Space Best Option for West Waterfront
A beautiful public park with grass and shrubs and some public parking spaces should be added to Sturgeon Bay’s west waterfront. A hotel is not what is needed on this west waterfront site. The site needs to be preserved for public use and benefit by the city’s making it a park.
Housing Units Favored Over Hotel on West Waterfront
A residential housing development for the West Waterfront was favored over a hotel by Sturgeon Bay’s Finance/Purchasing and Building Committee on Tuesday. After going into closed session to consider both projects, the committee unanimously backed the proposed four-story, 54-unit housing project along East Maple Street over a four-story, 62-unit Cobblestone Hotel.
