Alcoa High School honors students 'Committed to Excellence'

Alcoa High School honored top students at its annual Committed to Excellence banquet April 17.

The school recognized Senior Scholars based on a combination of ACT scores and grades: Olivia Baumann, Caroline Buchanan, Charles Cowart, Addison Davis, Levi Deaton, Annalise Erhart, Reed Gossett, Addison Kerr, Andrew Knight, Ainsley Lamar, Lila Miller, Jesus Ortega, Sullivan Sharp, Houston Whedbee, Noah Wilson, Tripp Wilson and Olivia Yeager.

Nine of those were recognized as Top Seniors — Buchanan, Davis, Deaton, Erhart, Gossett, Kerr, Lamar, Miller and Ortega — along with Katheryn Anderson, Samuel Bridges, Maggie Horn, Bella Moon and Amelia Pfeiffer.

Department awards were presented to:

• Annalise Erhart, English, analytical science, Advanced Placement

• Reed Gossett, social studies and biological science

• Addison Kerr, English

• Ainsley Lamar, marketing and yearbook editor

• Jesus Ortega, band

• Samantha Robinson, health science

• Phillip Tucker, chorus

• Houston Whedbee, German

AHS also recognized top juniors and sophomores and inducted students into the German Honor Society.
