Organizations in eastern Iowa package 225,000 Taco Mac meals to fight food insecurity
Cedar Rapids — In downtown Cedar Rapids, 225,000 meals are being packaged to help fight hunger in eastern Iowa. Right now, several eastern Iowa organizations are teaming up at the DoubleTree by Hilton Convention Complex to help pack Taco Mac meals for those in need. Those meals were provided through a $15,000 donation by ADM Cares program. You can read more about that program here.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A Cedar Rapids company known for its bug repellent and a Cedar Rapids brewery are teaming up for a summer ale, the companies announced Wednesday. Organic lip care and insect repellent company, Eco Lips/Bug Soother, said it is teaming up with Lion Bridge Brewing Company on “Summer Soother” - an Ale for Outdoors inspired Bug Soother’s lemongrass and vanilla aroma.
Movie may be possible motive behind Linn County killings, police say; Marion man arrested
Police say a possible motive for the deaths of three people and critical injury of another in rural Linn County Wednesday was to turn the crime into a movie. Linn County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 3699 E. Otter Road in rural Marion north of Cedar Rapids for an undisclosed reason just around 4 p.m., Sheriff Brian Gardner said in a news release. Strong storms possible
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Scattered showers and storms tonight, some could be strong to severe. Scattered showers and storms have formed in the heating of the day. These more scattered storms will be followed by a line of thunderstorms moving in from the weather. A cold front, following the boundary across the state, stay with us through the evening. This line of storms will move east reaching the Mississippi River by midnight. Some storms could be on the stronger side with strong winds and heavy rainfall being the main threats. These should exit the state fairly quickly overnight with skies clearing into Wednesday morning.
