ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The brother of the man involved in the Victoria Martens murder had his own trial end this week with a hung jury. Joseph Gonzales was on trial for the last week and a half after investigators say he shot and killed Abner Antillon in the South Valley in August 2022.

Gonzales is related to Fabian Gonzales who is serving a 37.5-year sentence for trying to dispose of Marten’s body in 2016. Joesph Gonzales was not connected to the Marten’s murder but he did testify at his brother’s trial more than a month before Antillon’s death.

KRQE News 13 learned a judge declared a mistrial in Gonzales’ trial on Thursday when jurors were split 10-2 on whether to convict him. The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office says they will retry the case.
