    Firebirds top Nashville to improve to 2-0

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — After a memorable, season-opening victory last weekend, the Albany Firebirds followed that up Thursday night with a 51-41 victory over the Nashville Kats.

    Darius Prince caught five touchdown passes and quarterback Jake Medlock threw six and rushed for one.

    Albany held a 20-7 lead in the first half, but the Kats fought back and took a 21-20 lead heading into halftime. In the third quarter, the Firebirds scored on their opening possession, but Nashville answered with a scoring drive.

    The Firebirds kept fighting and scored twice before the third quarter ended. Albany outscored the Kats 14-6 in the fourth quarter to seal the win and handed Nashville their first loss.
