    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Happy Tuesday! According to Meteorologist Matt Mackie, temperatures will pick up to the mid-60s after starting out in the mid-50s this morning. Showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day.

    The Burdett Birth Center will remain open, as announced yesterday after receiving funding in the new state budget. Also, an undrafted wide receiver from UAlbany will look to make the most of his NFL opportunity after signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars.     1. Rebirth of Burdett Birth Center

    What some are calling the rebirth of the Burdett Birth Center has the community celebrating the news. With the news of the Burdett Center keeping its doors open for another five years, expecting moms reacted to the unexpected news. “Thinking that I am going to be giving birth in November and not knowing that until today that I was going to giving birth a Burdett it was anxiety provoking to say the least,” expecting Mother Erin Wright said.

    2. Brothers found guilty of Ulster County murder

    Two brothers were found guilty of murder on Monday in Ulster County Court after an 11-day trial. Juwaugh Dawkins , 34, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Junando Dawkins , 30, of Newburgh, were convicted of murder in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

    3. Crews respond to structure fire in Menands

    Multiple crews responded to a structure fire in Menands on Monday afternoon. The fire occurred at a house on the 600 block of Broadway around 2 p.m.

    4. Reimagine I-787 open house meeting Wednesday

    On Wednesday, starting at 4 p.m., the reimagine I-787 open house will be at the Albany Capital Center on level one. A Spanish interpretation of the open house will be provided.

    5. Brevin Easton looking to make most of NFL opportunity

    Wide receiver Brevin Easton broke out in his second year with UAlbany. Now he’s looking to stand out in training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
