Traffic stop leads to ghost gun arrest for 2 in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Two Albany men were arrested after a traffic stop in Albany on Tuesday evening. Nazaruz Thompson and Sincere Cobb, both 19, allegedly had an illegally possessed loaded ghost gun, per the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.

On Tuesday, around 9:45 p.m., deputies pulled over a car near Quail Street and Spring Street for a traffic violation. Deputies identified Thompson as the driver and Cobb as the passenger.

Law enforcement says both were found to have a loaded .9MM caliber semi-automatic ghost gun, neither having the right to possess firearms.

Charges:

  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Both Thompson and Cobb are scheduled to be arraigned in Albany Criminal Court on Wednesday.
