Lincoln Park Pool construction breaks ground on Monday

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– Construction of the new Lincoln Park Pool will begin on Monday and continue through early fall. The 1930s-era bathhouse is set to be renovated during the winter months with a grand reopening on July 4, 2025.

City of Albany contractor, Jersen Construction, was selected as the general contractor through a competitive bidding process. Improvements to be made include long metal pipes filled with concrete around the footprint of the pool and bathhouse increase strength and stability, new lockers, and add visual enhancements to the bathhouse. The pool will be connected to the Park Avenue waterline.

Five trees need to be removed for the construction process, according to the city. Every tree will be replaced with the same species of tree that was removed. Phase two of the project will introduce a new playground in the vicinity of the pool.
