An Albany police officer is recovering and a suspect died early Wednesday morning in Albany. Police Chief Eric Hawkins says the officer was “ambushed” after a short chase and traffic stop. Also, a new cell tower is expected to be built in the town of Hebron. Calls for improved cell service were renewed after the fatal shooting of Kaylin Gillis in April 2023. An Albany police officer is recovering and a suspect died early Wednesday morning in Albany. Police Chief Eric Hawkins says the officer was “ambushed” after a short chase and traffic stop.

2. Berkshire County man with 51 indictments of child sex abuse posts bail

A Berkshire County man, facing 51 indictments of child sexual abuse, walked free from his arraignment on Tuesday after posting a $100,000 bail. Brian Warner, 37, is facing several serious charges, including aggravated rape of a child with force and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

3. Plans for new cell tower in Hebron approved

A new cell tower is expected to be built in the town of Hebron. Calls for improved cell service were renewed after the deadly shooting of Kaylin Gillis in April 2023.

4. Two local healthcare providers joining CDTA Universal Access program

Community Care Physicians and CDPHP joined the CDTA’s Universal Access program on Tuesday. The partnership allows businesses and schools to cover transportation costs for students and employees.
